The mission of SSP is to "advance the field of sensory evaluation, including consumer research, and the role/work of sensory professionals, for the purpose of sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, mentoring, and educating its members." The SSP Executive Committee establishes policies and develops activities necessary to meet the mission and scope of SSP. The 2014–2015 Executive Committee was announced at the 2014 SSP Conference, September 17–19 in Tucson, Arizona, and includes:
