Submission Process
Thank you for you interest in submitting an abstract for oral or poster presentation to 2024 SSP Conference. All submitters will need a SSP account to submit an abstract as you will use these credentials to access the submission system. Submitters and/or presenting authors are not required to be a member to submit an abstract.
All submissions are limited to 475 words and must include the following. Do not include abstract title, authors, keywords, or references in abstract text.
- Establishment of context and significance of your research to the field of sensory science.
- Hypothesis or objective
- Methods
- Results including mention of quantitative or qualitative data.
Specifying oral or poster preference does not guarantee format placement. The submission of an abstract indicates you agree to present in the format assigned. Oral presentations are allotted 20 minutes (15 minutes for presentation + 5 minutes for discussion). Posters will be displayed on poster boards in the exhibit hall with presenting authors required to be present at designated times.
All communications will be sent to the submitter until the acceptance notifications are sent. Once accepted, all communications will be with the presenting author only.
Evaluation
Members of the SSP Scientific Committee will evaluate all proposed abstracts based on the following criteria: overall quality, relevance to the industry, well-defined focus within the program track structure, practical applications of material, timeliness of the topic, and speaker qualifications.
To be considered as a presenter, your abstract must be educational in nature — sales presentations will not be accepted. The final program selections and notifications will be made by early June and acceptance/rejection notifications will be delivered via email to all submitters.
