Nominations are being sought for the 2024-2026 SSP Executive Committee. You may self nominate or nominate another SSP member—please check with the individual on their willingness to serve before nominating them. Membership in SSP is required. Only SSP Professional Members may run for an elected office. Review officer duties and responsibilities as outlined in the SSP Bylaws (Article IV. Section 1 & 2) and Section I.D. of the SSP
Manual of Operations.
All nominations will be treated confidentially with the final slate of candidates being approved by the SSP Executive Committee before the election ballot is sent to eligible voting members of SSP in the summer of 2024. Elected officials begin their term at the close of the 2024 SSP Conference.

Key Leadership Attributes:
Ability to think strategically and analytically and to effectively communicate thoughts and the reasons for them.
Possession of earned respect of other key stakeholder group members.
The ability to work well with others as a member of a collaborative group with group decision-making authority and an understanding of the fiduciary duties of loyalty, care, and obedience.
Demonstrated understanding of the differences between "oversight" and "supervision".
Earned reputation for emotional maturity, personal integrity, and honesty.
A demonstrated familiarity with the scientific breadth and frontiers as well as the community of stakeholders in the field of sensory science and education of sensory evaluation.
General expectations for elected officers:
Regular participation in monthly Executive Committee conference calls (60-minute call typically during normal U.S. business hours).
Active participation/contribution within the committee and support of committee initiatives.
SSP Conference attendance.
Elected officials will take office at the close of the 2024 SSP Conference.
