As the scientific chair of the Society for Sensory Professionals, my vision is to foster an environment where members can engage in common interest in exploration and advancement of sensory processes and perception and create a vibrant community united by scientific curiosity, promoting collaboration and innovation through accessible and engaging virtual activities. By organizing interactive workshops, journal club meetings, and other dynamic events, I hope members can easily share knowledge, discuss cutting-edge research, and develop their professional skills. This term I was able to increase SSP’s scientific sharing via social media and collaboration with students. We also managed to start a program of bringing SSP awareness to academic institutions. I do feel that this past term was only the tip of the iceberg. Together, we will cultivate a thriving network that drives scientific excellence and meaningful contributions to the field of sensory science.
Biographical Statement
Michelle Niedziela (PhD), founder of Nerdoscientist, is a behavioral neuroscientist working in the consumer and market research space, integrating applied consumer neuroscience tools with behavioral science and traditional methods used to measure consumer response. Experienced from academia (Monell Chemical Senses Center) and industry (Johnson & Johnson, Mars Chocolate, HCD Research), helping organizations successfully implement cognitive science tools and programs into their products and research.
