View Statement for SSP

The ultimate purpose of my life is to make a significant contribution toward creating a society in which “everyone” can experience “happiness.” Through my exploration, I have discovered that people often find moments of happiness in sensory-related contexts, such as enjoying delicious food in pleasant environments. Therefore, I decided to focus my research on measuring responses to sensory cues, optimizing these cues to enhance quality of life and happiness, and delivering these positive impacts to a broad spectrum of individuals, including demographic minorities and those with sensory, affective, and neurodiversity.

Similarly, my vision for SSP is to foster an environment where every member can achieve happiness. Within a professional society, individuals often experience happiness when they see opportunities for professional growth, feel included and recognized, and expand their professional and social networks. If elected, I will leverage my interdisciplinary background, network organization skills, and ability to encourage and include minority communities to contribute to SSP members’ professional growth, build a diverse and inclusive community, and expand our network both within SSP and globally. In this way, I believe all members will experience greater happiness over time within our SSP.
